~ Without shedding tears, (because the separated soul has to drink all the bitter tears that fall from the eyes of the kin),
the son should offer the fullerness of “lye” to his father.
~ One who takes birth, he must also die / If no one has a son, then the wife, brother, relative or brahmin, can perform the rituals.
Manu has said that out of many sons from the same father, if only one has a son, then he is considered to be the son of all brothers. Inspite of having many sons, only one will perform all the rituals, Shradh.
No mantra should be recited in the rituals of these days.
The rituals of 10 days should be performed by the son only.
If the eldest son dies, then the father who is still alive, compelled, cannot complete the ritual. Shradh of 10 days is in the name of the family.
~ If the father’s property has been divided, then the rituals of 10 days, Shradh will be done by only one son. But the annual Shradh will be done separately by all the brothers. The son will keep food, sleep on the ground and pure conduct in fulfillment of the rituals of 10 days.
~ Bathing at a holy water place (well, pond, temple etc.), after not chanting any mantra, facing south, under a tree, on the ground covered with cow dung.
~ By making a place of worship, darba and Kusha made of grass, make an idol of the deceased and worship. In front of this, lay Kusha grass and mold it, offer rice cooked food, incense, flowers, fruits etc.
~ Similarly, doing for 9 days, on the 10th day, by getting full shaving, wearing yellow clothes, worshiping with “Masa” ladoos and ingredients, inspire the liberated soul for peace.
Every day, after Shradh, after taking a bath, by feeding prasad to the cow, you should eat food.
